Job Description

The Senior Paralegal, Real Estate will be responsible for the delivery of various transaction related services to the partners and associates in the Real Estate Practice Group, nationally. The successful candidate will have significant experience with title & survey review, due diligence review, negotiation of loan documents, UCC searches/filings and organizing closing documentation. The qualified candidate must be able to transition into the role quickly with a positive attitude, a high capability for problem solving and working under tight deadlines, and the people skills to get work done through others. Ideal candidates will be experienced with large commercial real estate deals in New York City.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Prepare for and assist with the closing of various real estate transactions: including the drafting of closing documents, preparation of closing checklists, preparation of file folders, preparation and filing of Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) documentation .

· Extensive interaction with institutional lenders and local, state and federal regulatory agencies.

· Preparation and filing of UCC documents. Conduct UCC searches through service companies.

· Conducting searches, filing and/or the preparation of formation documents (articles of incorporation, articles of organization, by-laws, organizational minutes, etc.), resolutions, consents, notices, qualifications, dissolutions and UCC forms.

· Prepare and arrange for transmittal of correspondence, legal documents etc., via fax, regular mail service, commercial hand delivery, Federal Express and other messenger service. Follow up to assure timely and accurate delivery.

· Extensive communication with service companies with respect to ordering and filing such organizational documentation.

· Proofread documents for accuracy and consistency.

· Prepare documents and use research techniques on CT Advantage, CSC Incspot, the Internet, Lexis, Westlaw and other software applications.

· Perform or arrange for duplication and/or binding of documents as required.

· Maintain client files in an orderly fashion and in compliance with Firm procedures.

· Provide records of client disbursement charges including client/matter names and numbers for all word processing overtime, duplicating, messenger, luncheon fees, etc. and other expenses deemed to be chargeable to a client.

· Maintain Corporate Workroom.

· Perform various other duties as required.

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree and or Paralegal Certificate and or JD.

· 4-10 years of Real Estate experience in a law firm or large Title company

· Excellent organizational and communication skills.

· Meticulous attention to detail.

· High ethical standards and professional integrity.

· Ability to work independently and on a team.

· Ability to work well under pressure and quick multi-tasker

· Strong computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office and litigation support programs.

· Notary Public license a plus.

· Flexibility to work overtime.

Qualifications
