Position Summary
The Corporate Events Intern plays a key supporting role in the strategic planning, coordination, and execution of all corporate events. Reporting directly to the Event Specialist, this position is designed to provide hands-on experience across all stages of the event lifecycle.
This is a hybrid position; in the office 1x/week.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing event timelines, checklists, and run-of-show documents.
- Research venues, vendors, and suppliers; gather pricing, availability etc.
- Assist with the coordination of logistics such as travel, shipping, etc.
- Support attendee list management, including data entry and tracking to ensure accuracy.
- Support supplier expo planning and logistics with vendor coordination.
- Maintain organized event folders, vendor contracts, task lists, and other tasks as needed.
- Serve as a liaison between internal taskforce members and external planning vendors during planning phases.
- Schedule and attend meetings; take notes and follow up on action items.
- Help collect and compile event feedback from attendees, GSL staff and Suppliers (as needed).
- Assist in developing event recap reports, summaries, and/or presentations.
- Stay up to date with trends in event planning, hospitality, and corporate engagement.
- Provide support to department leadership and manage special projects as assigned.
Experience and Competencies
Minimum Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, Communications, or other applicable field of study.
- Proficient with computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
- Personable and professional with strong written and oral communication skills, able to advance the Goddard School brand and reputation.
- Strong time management, problem-solving, planning and organization skills to work on multiple projects in a results-oriented environment.
Highly Desired
- Familiarity with event management tools (e.g., Cvent, Canva).
- Strategic, creative, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to problem-solve under pressure and remain calm in high-stakes situations.
