DescriptionYou will form part and support the corporate legal team with timely advice on all terminal-related legal matters including but not limited to, contracts, commercial, governance and regulation. As a member of the corporate legal team, you will work within a dynamic environment that provides a platform for you to have immediate and long-term impact on the future success of Hapag-Lloyd at headquarter level.
Responsibilities
- Supporting senior legal counsel, internal as well as external stakeholders (such as local, regional or national authorities) in terminal (acquisition or greenfield) projects, assessment, applications and updates of permits and licenses as well as concessions to comply with relevant local, regional and national laws.
- Provide legal advice on and support in a range of corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters related to the terminal logistics industry and advise management on potential legal risks.
- Supporting the business in compliance with legal requirements.
- Researching and evaluating different risk factors and offering proactive advice on legal matters.
- Selecting, steering and supervising external legal resources.
- Drafting, reviewing, interpreting and vetting legal documents and other contractual documents efficiently.
- Assist the legal department team in maintaining complete corporate files by updating the legal portal of the Legal Department.
Qualifications
- University degree in law.
- 4+ years of experience as a legal counsel with a law firm or company in-house law department with relevant experience preferably in the port sector, infrastructure of transport and logistic industry.
- Ability to work independently and a team player with the local team to find creative solutions to complex issues.
- Professional proficiency in English.
- Strong written and oral communication and analytical skills.
- Ability to grasp complex areas of law rapidly and accurately.
- Ability to equilibrate priorities and organize work effectively to meet deadlines.
- Self-starter, hands-on, good communicator (able to explain complex legal issues to non-legal people), empathy, personal tact.
