We are a Dutch Law Firm with a global approach. From our headquarters in Amsterdam, we deliver global coverage through our local offices, our network of Best Friends firms and our long-standing relationships with top-tier law firms abroad.
With a profound engagement on the most crucial aspects of business, we are deeply rooted in the Dutch tradition of problem-solving and innovation.
We provide our clients with unrivalled expertise in complex – often multidisciplinary and international – corporate transactions, disputes and regulatory enforcement matters.
Would you like to gain hands-on experience in a broad litigation practice? If you are available for approximately 15 hours a week alongside your studies, this law assistant position is what you are looking for!
Your role as a law assistant
As a law assistant you will immerse yourself in a dynamic blend of 'know-how' activities and hands-on support for our practice's daily operations. Your role in know-how will involve staying updated on the latest legal trends, contributing to newsletters, and delivering engaging presentations. Additionally, you'll play a part in supporting our team by conducting comprehensive literature and case law research, crafting presentations, creating memos, and conducting research for both internal and external publications.
You will also be able to fully participate in all of our educational and social programmes, whether practice-specific or firmwide.
Our practice
The sheer number of high-profile cases, our strong focus on dispute and risk management and our full-service litigation practice serves the vast majority of the largest 100 companies headquartered in the Netherlands. Our client matters often attract public interest and a high degree of political sensitivity. Our team operates in different areas of law, for example corporate, contract and disciplinary law. We help our clients with corporate inquiry proceedings, civil cases before the Dutch Supreme Court, financial disputes (for example, on shares and derivatives) and proceedings at the Enterprise Chamber. The practice is very broad and works closely with other practices, giving you the opportunity to also work on commercial litigation, ESG and arbitration matters.
At our firm, the Arbitration and Corporate Litigation practice groups operate as one integrated team. As a law assistant, you may be involved in matters across both areas, given the significant overlap in the work we handle. While you can express a preference for either Arbitration or Corporate Litigation during the application process, we consider trainees available for both fields by default. This structure provides a well-rounded experience and ensures exposure to a broad range of complex disputes
