Intern at Pima County

The Public Defender provides opportunities for undergraduate students to participate in unpaid criminal defense internships during the fall and spring semesters and over the summer. The office also has a summer Federal Work Study (FWS) program that allows for paid FWS law clerks who have been approved for a FWS program through their law school. Interns assist attorneys and staff in such tasks as reviewing and summarizing records and reports, meeting with clients at the jail, observing court proceedings, and preparing mitigation materials.
