This position is responsible for managing discovery processes with confidence, care, and consistency, emphasizing thoughtful work, adherence to established procedures, and reliable, repeatable results.


The work is highly precise in nature and requires a very strong attention to detail. All output must consistently meet the highest standards of quality, delivering accurate results every time. Someone in this role must check and double-check their work. They must also be patient and conscientious, with a commitment to highly polished, well-presented work.


Requirements for this role are unambiguous. It is very clear what needs to be done and what success looks like. This clarity tends to come either from management or from existing processes. Established systems and procedures must be followed very closely; there is little room or necessity to modify them.


Much of the work can be accomplished by working at a steady, even pace. Expect consistency and familiarity from one day to the next. It is generally feasible to plan large blocks of work ahead of time. When work duties do change, there is ample time to prepare.


This job is best accomplished individually, without much dependence on other people to get results. Job Characteristics:

  • Conducts work at a steady, even pace, with a degree of predictability from one day to the next. Requires focus on repetitive tasks and consistent actions, with adherence to well-defined processes and procedures.
  • Maintains people-orientation, even if reserved in nature. Must be helpful and service-oriented, with a strong focus on repeatable, high-quality results.

  • Must be comfortable working in a team environment, but will rarely need to delegate details. When delegating, follow up must ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Draft and manage discovery requests, including Interrogatories, Requests for Production, and Requests for Admission
  • Track and review discovery responses, noting deficiencies and preparing follow-up correspondence
  • Assist attorneys with analyzing financial disclosures, bank statements, tax returns, and business records, etc.
  • Organize, summarize, and maintain discovery logs and document databases
  • Collaborate with clients to gather and produce responsive documents in a timely and accurate manner
  • Bates stamp records and maintains file integrity
  • Monitor and meet all discovery deadlines and filing requirements
  • Assist in the preparation of motions to compel or protective orders related to discovery
  • Support the legal team in hearing and trial preparation by organizing exhibits and document summaries
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and ethical standards in handling sensitive information
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in legal discovery or litigation support, preferably in family law
  • Strong working knowledge of the Maryland Rules of Civil Procedure relating to discovery
  • Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred
  • Exceptional organizational skills and experience managing large volumes of documents
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and case management systems (Clio)
  • Strong written communication and documentation skills
  • High level of accuracy, discretion, and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and work independently within a team environment
  • Familiarity with analyzing financial documents and preparing document summaries
  • Available to start as soon as possible
